I started an internship at Ulteig in 2011 working across North Dakota on highway projects. I stayed on during the fall and after completing my last semester at NDSU I stayed on with Ulteig full time. I got the opportunity during this time to work on many emergency relief projects as recovery of flooding highways was common during the wet cycle ND was experiencing. ND was also experiencing an oil boom and I had the opportunity to support some sizable concrete paving projects. The seasons were split into design and construction and we could be living on energy drinks during both! I worked on two design projects on historic 1804 that I'm proud to have been a part of and the work we did. We started working more in my home area of Fargo and we worked with the district on a concrete repair, bridge deck/approach slab repair, radial T and paving. I got certified as bridge inspector with the federal highway. In 2020 I provided on site engineering support for utilities and street on the new Amazon Fufillement center in Fargo. in 2021 I transitioned to the power side of Ulteig. I had done some work sharing throughout my career and found Transmission Line Design drew my attention. I have been working on Xcel Energy lines and renewable project across the country. The work fits me because there is a need for attention to detail and varied aspects keep me piqued. Ulteig has been a great company to work for and I would recommend them to anyone in the industry.
