BICEP Horizontal Lead (Cyber & Unsupported Infrastructure / Applications)

The Global Loadbalancer Rationalisation Project was set up to migrate business services from legacy F5 loadbalancers to newly procured Viprion devices, enabling the business to virtualise from physical hardware to virtual. My role within the project was as follows:Lead a team of 8 engineers and 2 change managers to ensure the successful delivery of the project, running team meetings, ensuring technical issues are highlighted to senior management within the business and work with the suppliers post sales team to identify new opportunities.Production of all project related documentation, such as Weekly Steer-Co pack, Weekly PM metrics, RAID log maintenance, and stakeholder escalation reports. Ensuring all Milestones were met and delivered against ridged Commercial milestones and new CRs as they were raised for the project.Create a detailed project plan to list activities for the Second work package the supplier (NTT) had won. Maintaining and updating the current project plan for the First phase of work

I was a Senior Consultant within IBM. My last role with IBM was working with RBS to create a new challenger bank (Williams and Glyn) my responsibility there was as follows:Lead the shared Services design delivery team. We had c50 Shared Services as part of the source environment that needed to be recreated and designed in the target environment. I had a team of 20 SMEs and architects who looked after the creation of high and low level designs. These individuals were located at numerous locations throughout the world who were experts in numerous disciplines including, Oracle, WAS, DB2, CD, MQ, Informatica, F5 load balancers and firewalls amongst others.The SMEs also created component workbooks that would contain all of the specific configuration information to enable infrastructure to work. This information was garnered from the RBS production environment which required intensive co-ordination with existing RBS teams.I would often support other areas of the programme with the build deliverables for each of the Shared Services where these deliverables were challenged to ensure that no milestones were missed.

This engagement was to manage the complex migrations as part of a Data Centre migration programme moving services from Greenford to Slough. The migrations were considered complex due to the internet facing nature of the services involved meaning the services were located within a DMZ that was ring-fenced from the wider infrastructure estate. All migrations were delivered successfully and to time. My role in these migrations was as follows:Creating a detailed playbook that would detail each of the migration activities of when each component team would start and finish their tasksNegotiating with service owner’s downtime of their services and a migration window for when we would stop their services and bring them back up in their new location.Working closely with numerous different teams including Middleware, UNIX, Networks and Storage to ensure a successful migration.Arranging issue resolution and fault fixing calls where a methodical step by step approach was taken to ensure issues were resolved quickly.Daily updates with senior stake-holders to give updates on current and future migrations
