Financial support for the transformation of three financial advice organisations into one combined operation.

In this role, as Finance Consultant, I supported a number of key transformation projects, with the main focus on the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership for North West London. This involves analysing and reviewing financial implications of improving health care between 8 Local authorities and 8 NHS CCGs.Other projects included supporting the disaggregation of a three-borough partnership, focusing on the post-split co-operative agreements for continued services and well as revising the staffing budgets across three directorates.I was also involved in modelling and monitoring the financial costs of implementing a new finance system, providing data at various levels of detain depending on the recipient.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES • Established effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.• Enabled Senior Management to make key decisions by providing detailed financial models/scenario mapping.• Redesigned implementation cost model to enable senior managers to readily get the information they required.• Drafted the finance section of the Co-operative agreement to define post disaggregation responsibilities.• Assess the wider implications on the Council finance of operational proposals (internal and NHS) • Successfully challenged internal and external business cases that would have exposed the Council to financial/operational risk.• Reduced financial exposure by modelling financial impact of proposed business cases.• Substituted for senior manager at internal and external meetings.• Undertook quality assurance reviews on variety of work streams.• Ad-hoc analysis and modelling for the City Treasurer.

Finance Manager (Business Partner) for a tri-borough Public Health Department. Reporting to the Finance Director for Adult Social Care and Public Health. Responsible for monitoring spend against budge (£79m combined budget across three boroughs), variance analysis, cabinet member and cabinet committee briefings and reports.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES • Overhauled department management accounts to provide tailored reporting to multiple stakeholders, from front line commissioners to elected Cabinet Members.• Ensured budgets met (totalling £73m across three boroughs) through regular challenge sessions with key budget holders (five teams with over 200 contracts/budgets).• Set three years of balanced budgets across three councils during a period of reducing funding.• Challenged potential suppliers through due diligence on financial performance, to ensure value for money while maintaining quality of service. • Established good relations with internal and external stakeholders.• Successfully closed nine year-ends (three per borough) with no audit changes.• Enabled Senior Management to make key financial decisions by creating a 10-year financial model.

My role was that of Finance Business Partner reporting to the Finance Director. Responsible for a wide range of business partnering activities across all departments and external parties. Key achievements/responsibilities included;• Enabled the senior management team to increase revenue by over £1M by composing highly detailed and complex scenario models to assess proposed changes to the fee structure.• Created KPI packs, including commentary to inform senior managers of performance on a regular basis.• Facilitated tendering for new business through detailed financial modelling.• Forecasting and re-forecasting of operational activities.• Conducted risk assessments for both new proposals and potential subcontractors.• Identified key variances through trend analysis to assist business planning.• Improved efficacy in operational teams by rebuilding and managing all the automated MI reports, after identifying gaps.• Assisted the MD by preparing information presented to the Board of Directors.• Other tasks included • Staff training • VAT reports • Fraud investigation• Process streamlining• Ad-hoc analysis.
