The Oregon Dept of Transportation annually invests hundreads of millions of dollars in maintenance and operations when you consider materials, contracts, staff, etc. The research coordinator position takes issues management and field personnel identify and translates them into projects which provide data collection efforts. We use data and research to provide direction. The results provide management guidelines to either confirm that current business practice is the best option or alternatives exists which are safer, faster, better quality, or better aligned to ODOT's core values. ODOT Research plays an integral part in first steps to operational improvement and change.

ODOT PM1 was an exciting position with the Intelligent Transportation Systems division. Oregon's ITS oversees award winning www.Tripcheck.com web site with all the roadway cameras, data, and weather sensors. I maintained all aspects of the web site and suggested enhancements for future improvements. Data was also distrubed via phone and mobile applications, which I initiated and oversaw.

The role of CEO for the Willamette Valley Chapter is unique because it oversees a three branch model. PMIWV delivers training and networking opportunites to enhance the project management profession. The CEO oversees three branch boards from Salem, Corvallis, and Eugene.

Lead PMI Salem Branch activities, applied for and administered annual budget, coordinated events, lunch meetings, trainings. During my term, I introduced Salem's first CAPM/PMP prep class and instructed a couple topics.

As the VP of Special Projects, I participated with board directives and events. I filled the void where help was needed and made suggestions for improvements.

Worked on drug court database for 14 courts. Implemented trial version of access database for use.

EDS business analyst was to document and develop a database of inventory for a large data center. This included all hardware and software components. The job concluded with everything either migrated, decommissioned, or Y2K ready for the millenium change-over.
