About Jon Longtin, Ph.D., P.E.
I have the honor of working in higher education as an educator, researcher and administrator. I have spent my entire academic career at Stony Brook University as both a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and more recently, in a number of administrative roles at the college and university level. I have also worked closely with Brookhaven National Laboratory over the past ten years as both a Visiting Scientist and a Joint Appointment. My research focus is in thermal and energy sciences, with an emphasis on energy efficiency, novel heat transfer technologies, and alternatives to traditional vapor-cycles for refrigeration and space cooling.
