As an Auxiliary Operator I perform the following general shift duties:Complete surveillances using shift rounds procedures (equipment checks), plant logs, and other items as assigned and scheduledConduct a thorough walk down of assigned areas, inspecting all accessible operating and standby equipmentObserve systems, equipment and station areas for the following conditions:LeaksUnusual noise levelsUnusual equipment operationAccumulation of water or other liquids on floors or equipmentBearing lubrication and temperatureUnusual vibrationsEquipment or pipe movementsHousekeeping deficienciesEnsure all equipment and systems are operating within regulatory and environmental limitsEnsure that all equipment and locations are operated and maintained in a safe working conditionTake appropriate corrective actions and documents findings in associated logs and conveys this information during shift turnoversOperate assigned equipment in accordance with approved proceduresEnsure that all log readings have been recordedVerify that all out-of-spec readings have been identified and the causes and the corrective actions reportedExecute the isolation, verification and restoration steps of the LOTO procedure for the equipment under my jurisdiction.Provide a complete and accurate shift turnover, ensuring that relief person is fully aware of the status and condition of equipment and processes in the responsibility areaDevelop work requests for defective equipment and closes work orders per the work management process
