Jon Mitchell is a Audio Programmer at Blackbird Interactive Inc. Colleagues describe him as "I worked closely with Jon on audio systems for Colin McRae Rally 2005 and Redline, another driving game for PS2 and Xbox, which used a new cross-platform audio system we designed and implemented together. Jon is enthusiastic, erudite, realistic and fun to work with. Jon rapidly picked up the traces left by the previous Rally audio programmer, got to grips with the large legacy code base and refactored it, fixing a lot of bugs and ensuring that the game was released on time and with all the planned features. He was particularly involved with game-specific and Xbox platform systems for CMR5. Redline demanded a lot of new systems, to enpower designers and play to the strengths of each platform while ensuring compatibility, While that game was canned, a victim of the console transition, the work Jon did proved ideal for the next generation PS3 and Xbox360, and the C++ cross-platform interface and common code Jon played a major part in designing and implementing has been the mainstay of audio systems in DiRT, GRID and Brian Lara International Cricket, which have gone on to sell millions worldwide on PC, PS3 and 360. So while I no longer work with Jon, I still benefit from the legacy of working with him and would jump at the chance to do so again." and "I've had the chance to work with Jon at a few different points in my career.
