I have spent my professional life in the military (Army Signal Corps & Nebraska National Guard), in aviation operations, secured communications networks, police operations, criminal investigations, a multi-agency task force, Fire Service, EMS, criminal forensics and law enforcement technology support. My experience started in communications support with the ARMY Signal Corps and later as a police officer in 1973 till 1980. I was a criminal investigator from 1980 till 1996 for two different agencies. In 1997 I became a forensic examiner and court qualified expert witness of forensic issues specifically fingerprints and ballistics.Part of the qualification process is acquisition of additional training, education and experience in the scientific method and forensic science. One of the notable events in the education process was my "internship" working with the Nebraska State Fire Marshal's Office on fire investigations. The integrity of the forensic process requires to search for truth supported by science without regard for the pressures for a specific result.I have 23 Years as a commissioned law enforcement officer & criminal Investigator and 17 years in support operations in forensics and information technology support.I have been a volunteer in Civil Air Patrol at the local, state and regional level since 1966. My field of interest in CAP has covered the Cadet Program, Emergency Services Operations, Command, Inspections/Inquiry and currently as a CAP Communications Unit Leader and Communications Training Administrator for North Central Region Headquarters.Recently I have again started working on Command Directed Investigations on a time available basis. I have also been a volunteer firefighter, HAZMAT operations level specialist and an EMT working for a rural fire district in Nebraska. In 2010, I became the Nebraska ARRL Section Emergency Coordinator from 2010 to 2012 and remained as the ARRL ARES assistant Section EC until 2013 prior to moving to Rolla Missouri.I remain a less active radio amateur operator General Class under KA0JGG now mostly working on HF ALE, NVIS and data applications for use in disaster response operations.
