Lead Quality Inspector, Test And Launch Operations
CurrentResponsibilities:• Perform in process, and final inspection on Structures, Avionics and Propulsion major assemblies, including mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic parts, components, and sub-assemblies• Inspect, verify, and proactively support Structures and Propulsion qualification and acceptance testing; assuring adherence to design, specification, and testing requirements• Document production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and process as defined by SpaceX policies• Identify, segregate and contain non-conforming product/materials per SpaceX policy• Routinely observe technical operations and offer guidance and/or serve as an additional technical resource• Inspect hardware and Identify/document non-conforming conditions using the Issue system per SpaceX policies• Review and approve issue tickets to ensure all issue ticket fields and dispositions are populated correctly• Maintain and drive issue tickets through work flow• Ensure issue tickets are reviewed thoroughly prior to completing verification and pushing to Pending Closure • Ensure all work order operations and issue disposition steps are being followed while performing in process inspections and observing while on test stand. • Provide feedback when disposition and/or work order instructions require additional detail or other redlines• Feed information about recurring issues or concerns back to build reliability engineering in Texas or California to ensure that these are addressed with proper teams upstream • Constantly striving to improve communication with production and launch teams• Act as a liaison between technicians, test inspectors and Quality engineering as necessary to ensure crystal clear cross functional communication• Actively seek process improvements through the suggestion/implementation of new processes or modification of current process
