A hands-on senior role in a small private company supplying multimedia kiosks and payphone products, management systems and services to the UK public sector and private clients in Europe, Asia and the US, with a team of six software and hardware engineers. The primary focus was on product development and customer projects but due to the size of the business the role necessarily covered a wide range of activities. Technologies include, Multimedia Kiosks, Voice over IP, SIP servers, credit card payments systems, WiFi in public areas, single board computers, touch screens, thermal printing, embedded microcontroller hardware and firmware developments in C, analogue telecoms hardware, database applications and GUI development.Achievements:• Project management in territory of the successful conversion of the kiosk population in Kuala Lumpur International Airport and subsequent service program. • Product roadmap development of our kiosk designs to update existing hardware and introduce new features such as Voice over IP, WiFi integration, credit card payments, bill acceptors and printing capabilities.• Specification, design and bid submission for the kiosk maintenance contract rolled out to several UK local authorities including Liverpool City Council.
