My work experience is focused in Biotechnology, with over 25 years of lab and managerial experience. I have a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and also hold an MBA with emphasis in Strategic Management. Combining the science and business aspects of my education have allowed me to effectively lead research efforts designing and developing commercial products. I was employed at LI-COR Biosciences for over 18 years, working as a Scientist, Senior Scientist, R&D Department Manager, and Director of Research and Development. I have been involved in the initial concept, feasibility, development, marketing, and product launch of multiple scientific products at LI-COR. During my time there, I was awarded several SBIR grants from the NIH and have served on over 30 NIH scientific review committees. I have demonstrated the leadership and competency to manage and conduct complex research projects. I have a solid background in biology, engineering, instrumentation development, and business. I most recent position was at SomaLogic/Standard Biotools where I was a Senior Product Manager focusing on instrumentation and reagents for proteomic assays. I have experience with a multitude of DNA, protein, and cell-based assays. I have worked with fluorescent-based approaches and multiple imaging platforms, from simple plate readers to confocal microscopy. I have experience working in an ISO environment and have lead research efforts to develop innovative tools and reagents.
