• The individual performs the routine aspects of GIS assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic and intermediate GIS principles.• Primary responsibility is to support Kennesaw’s 911/Dispatch system with maintaining road centerline and address points.• Aid in integrating a variety of spatial data into GIS, including cadastral, survey, demographic, administrative / political boundaries, land use, infrastructure, and transportation networks.• Work well independently and with others to understand and generate special purpose maps while maintaining and updating geospatial data.• Knowledge of drone operation, aerial photographic interpretation are also desirable / required.• Experience using GIS with the ESRI ArcGIS Online environment to include configuration of ArcGIS Experience Builder, WebAppBuilder, ArcGIS Hub, StoryMaps, Survey123, and configurable applications• Experience with Esri mobile applications: ArcGIS Collector, Survey123, Field apps, etc.• Troubleshoots and uses readily available information to solve problems.• Maintain current, well-organized files of soft and hard copy maps and data for short and long term planning.• Operates and maintains peripheral devices, such as plotters, printers, and scanners.• Prepares GIS maps for all departments and Mayor and Council as requested • Performs GIS analysis functions and spatial statistic functions.• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Functions of the job are to assist the IS GIS team with supporting all other GIS staff within the county departments such as Board of Commissioners, DOT, Water, Community Development, and Public Safetythat includes:● Development of mobile, desktop, and web-based GIS applications using ESRI software toenhance staff & public access to geospatial data● Ongoing digital GIS updates to over 300 datasets including parcels, transportation, waterutilities, land management, and zoning● Creation of data and analysis in relation to Public Safety data for Cobb County● New analysis and data collection for trails and trail markers in Cobb County for EMA● Compose and print custom maps as needed
