Responsibility for overall quality control in the design, implementation and analysis of quantitative and qualitative research projects in developing countries and countries in transition. Implemented a number of large scale living conditions, demographic and other types of surveys. Varied field experience from African countries, Middle East and China, and assisted in the development of national statistical bureaus in these regions. Specialist in survey sampling for large scale social surveys, and quantitative and qualitative studies of small and elusive populations. Considerable experience in child mortality estimation and mortality due to crisis and conflict. Extensive experience with research cooperation and institution building in transition, conflict and post-conflict countries. Carried out anthropological fieldwork in Seychelles, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone and Mali. Received "Foreign Expert Award" in 2009 from The Foreign Expert Bureau /State Council, People's Republic of China.
