SepiaTown is a visual history initiative based on a map-centric web application that enables a global community of users to search, view, and contribute to a library of geo-located historical photographs and other media. SepiaTown went live in February, 2010 and has garnered attention from media outlets, including The New York Magazine, PC Mag, and The San Francisco Chronicle, as well as institutions, including The New York Public Library, the Powerhouse Museum of Sydney Australia, and The San Francisco Public Library. The SepiaTown vision is to inspire and engage a global audience through history, geography, and technology.

Writing and rewriting catalog and website copy for a leading woodworking/outdoor tools company based in NYC. Working closely with the tool experts on staff at Garrett Wade to craft informative and engaging copy that illuminates the best aspects of the items we offer, and to provide an enjoyable reading experience as well. Our voice is particular to GW--personal, informed, and down-to-earth.

Worked onsite and remotely, taking part in news planning meetings to determine the stories of the day, and researching and obtaining photos for a very fast-paced news site. Accessed images from news and stock agencies, as well as reaching out to institutions and individuals, while observing proper journalistic usage rules. Sized and cropped single images and built slideshows. Wrote captions.
