I oversee program development, grantmaking strategies, and evaluation mechanisms for individual, family, and corporate donors focused on climate (including donors focused on oil and gas and food systems and regenerative agriculture) and democracy and justice. I also cultivate and manage relationships with individual, family, institutional, and corporate donors and support their philanthropy worldwide through the development and execution of strategy. Additionally, I serve as executive or program director for clients’ grant-making on an expansive range of climate change and environmental issues, including climate policy and finance, land and ocean conservation, and coalition-building in support of environmental justice. Project lead or core staff on multiple consulting engagements, including engagements with individuals and families on the design and implementation of arts and culture grantmaking strategies; and the design, review, and refresh of foundation strategies in the areas of human services, housing, health equity, and civic engagement.

Oversaw fundraising efforts for the Foundation's unrestricted grantmaking fund, including managing appeals and providing service to current donors. Managed the Foundation's communications efforts, including an electronic newsletter, its annual report, and all relations with press. Coordinated efforts of various special projects, including Dollars4Schools (a Kickstarter-like web-based giving platform for teacher projects in Santa Fe Public Schools) and Give Grande New Mexico (the state's first ever crowd-sourced giving day, to be held on May 6). Directed the efforts of the Foundation's Native American Fund and Envision Fund. The Native American Fund, founded twenty years ago, is a permanent grantmaking fund designed to preserve and enhance Native lifeways in Northern New Mexico. The Envision Fund is the Foundation's LGBTQ initiative and is advised by a committee of community members. It is the largest philanthropic entity in the state dedicated to serving LGBTQ causes. As Director for both, I staffed the committee of community advisors; develop and execute fundraising plans; and oversee the grant application, deliberation, and execution process.

Served as principal grants officer and researcher for both health and defense program areas.Facilitated planning for the Peterson Center for Health Care Value, which will identify and scale innovations in the payment and delivery system.Also developed several health care grants, including a project focused on developing strategies to control state Medicaid spending, one on the next step in federal health reform, and one identifying and evaluation cost-controlling, quality-enhancing delivery system innovations.Managed a project focused on using strategic decision-making to drive national security spending and an outreach initiative to activate college students on fiscal literacy.Served as project lead and manager for the Fiscal Solutions Initiative; convened six research organizations from across political spectrum to develop comprehensive long-term reform proposals for federal budget.

Implemented the national field program in the state capital of Nevada while managing a staff of seven in an office responsible for a county with urban and rural populations.Conducted extensive community engagement to build a 200 person volunteer base dedicated to voter registration and collecting data on preferences.Managed data to track progress. Won by 203 votes against opposition with registration advantage.

Managed recruitment databases to conduct analysis of application trends to plan recruitment in largest region in an office responsible for 15,000 applications annually. Collaborated with alumni volunteers to develop efficient processes for student interviews.Planned and executed annual recruitment events for high school counselors and students.Trained new staff and participated in committee that made admissions decisions.

Managed program operations, including use of facility and production with artists and museum staff. Used ticketing databases and Excel to track attendance for analysis and planning future schedules. Collaborated with other departments on institutional coordinating committee.
