Network Technician
Quality Assurance Auditor Supporting Google
As a part of a global team, I assisted the Google recruiting team by checking their sourcers/recruiters work for accuracy and professionalism, and collaborated with talent delivery managers, members of the business intelligence team, and other auditors worldwide. I was also a part of several functions within the quality assurance department, such as the reporting unification team, whose intent was to either further the quality of the client’s processes by researching and creating reports in Looker studio, providing relevant information, or helping streamline those processes by suggesting changes. I analyzed the client’s recruitment doctrine and SOPs; assisted in identifying areas of improvement in training and recruiting-related doctrine that led to positive change in the program and process. I was also in charge of pulling weekly candidate applications and assigning them to my fellow auditors who audit for the Software Engineering Recruitment Team.
Infrastructure Tech 2
I was the “hands and feet” for the Remote Network Admin. I installed the devices and ran the cabling for new Networking equ, and was the first responder to network issues. I oversaw procurement, and I determined specifications for new IT equipment, serving as the administrator for our VoIP phone systems, and was the point of contact for our AT&T issues that often included troubleshooting our Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) lines that went to emergency phones on elevators. I obtained two Dell certifications(Dell Desktops and Laptop repair). I was an administrator for our ticketing system (KACE), Canvas, and did Mid-Level Sys admin work within Active Directory.
Pc Technician
I provided end-user support to the numerous amounts of faculty and students. We have thousands of students, and a large number of faculty and staff, all of which my dept. supports on a daily basis. The problems range from simple password resets, to repairing faulty hardware in their computers, to network issues, to cable tv issues. Obtained two Dell certifications for Desktop and Laptop repair.
Network Administrator
I provided end-user support for faculty and students by troubleshooting/resolving any software, hardware and/or printer (a total of 12 printers on site) problems. In addition, I monitored the network to make sure that students/faculty weren’t using their machines (which there were nearly 100 of) for P2P sharing and/or using all the bandwidth by streaming music or videos. The schools networking issues fell under my care as well as monitoring the antivirus software (Trend Micro) and removing any threats. Sometimes machines needed re-imaged so I applied the image via bootable usb. I’ve also had some experience with VoIP administration. It was a part of my list of duties to create/delete user accounts and manage the users in my cluster. In addition, I resolved problems with overhead projectors and smart boards. I also worked in conjunction with the support desk to resolve issues with citrix and configure vpn.
Network Admin
I provided support for roughly 60 users and their machines. This includes installing, troubleshooting and configuring software such as Microsoft office (2003,2010), Minitab, Baan, Citrix XenApp, Citrix Receiver and proprietary programs such as File Handler. I also troubleshot/repaired any web based apps such as Softscape and I was in charge of taking care of local networking issues. These network issues ranged from user network problems(configuring WAPs, installation of wireless NICs, machine driver updating/configuration) to the actual creation of network cables and the creation new data drops. I also troubleshot/repaired printing issues on 5 Xerox copier/printers. I was also in charge of administrative tasks such as creating new user accounts and computers in Active Directory and providing access to particular network resources to the end users. After creating new user accounts and computers in AD, I prepared the computers for use. (installation of necessary software, joining company domain, updating of computer and group policy)Help desk responsibilities included checking the company help desk site for trouble tickets and assigning them to the proper tech(mostly myself) and resolving the issues that were described therein. These work ranged anywhere from software installation and “ghosting” machines to troubleshooting/installing the sites security camera system, to creating a users account in the Avaya administration software and assigning them an extension and their own personal voicemail.
