I work as a clinical genetic counsellor in cancer and general clinics. As well my immensely rewarding clinical work I am also excited to be part of new clinical/research collaborations with the Wellcome Genome Campus providing insights how to improve genetic counselling practice through patient engagement.

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Society and Ethics team at the Wellcome Genome Campus. I am working on a number of exciting new projects that are exploring the ethical implications of genomics with diverse audiences. These include developing an online course that provides an introduction to the clinical work and ethical issues of genetic counselling. I am also taking forward research from my PhD that explores how to engage wider audiences with genetics using their own interests, such as pop culture and family stories.

My Phd was a collaboration between the Wellcome Genome Campus and King's College London. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods I explored how people's own knowledge, skills and interests can be leveraged to facilitate engagement with genomics.

I worked as a clinical genetic counsellor in cancer, general and ophthalmology clinics. In this post, I also worked as a research genetic counsellor as part of the Deciphering Developmental Disorders (DDD) project. This project used exome sequencing to uncover the genetic etiology of children with undiagnosed genetic conditions.
