The Murder Creek Mystery Show is an original production that twists the standard whodunnit format into something where the focus is more on the word "Show" instead of "Mystery". A team of four actors plus myself deliver a two-hour experience where the audience becomes the stars of the show. We call it IMPROVactive. We schedule four shows a week in downtown Mobile plus venture out to other locations from time to time.

Theatre 98 - Fairhope, Al

I knew that On the Verge, or the Geography of Yearning was a story I wanted to tell on the stage at Theatre 98 immediately after reading the script last year. It reminded me of Carl Barks’ adventure comics that I loved to read as a child. Where else will you experience the travels of three Victorian women explorers as they trek through the mysterious and unknown land of Tera Incognita all in the comfort of an air-conditioned theater?But this is more than just a story about their journey; it’s a celebration of language, history and pop culture sprinkled with a bit of feminism and imagination, as well as the exploration of relationships and the human desire to wander unmapped places both inside and outside ourselves. In addition, the author encourages us to embrace the future! Along the way, our heroines encounter a number of “gatekeepers” who slow down their journey through uncharted territory. But, just like in our own lives, the story reminds us that obstacles can become opportunities and that all the strange and new things we discover in our own journeys, becomes incorporated into who we are and what we do and know. On the Verge was written in 1985 by Eric Overmyer, who later went on to become a writer/producer of many successful television series including St. Elsewhere, Law & Order, and Treme. Mr. Overmyer’s extensive use of esoteric language highlights its cleverness and, during the rehearsal process, I cautioned the actors not to paraphrase their lines but deliver them as written. I think you will appreciate the language at the end even though you may wish you had a dictionary in hand. This has been a fun production with an extremely talented cast and a crew of volunteers who took my vision and embellished it to its fullest. Theatre 98 - Fairhope, Al

I started this project as the Assistant Director and took over as director about five weeks into the rehearsal schedule when the director had to resign due to personal reasons. I immediately had to turn my attention to a couple of challenges: 1. Stage lighting had not been designed for the set and the sound design had not been completed. This show's lighting was not typical in the fact that a good majority of the second act took place in a blackout as the story's main character, Tom failed to pay the power bill. We incorporated candles and dim spot lighting to provide the required illumination and added music to complete the mood. 2. The original actor cast as Jim, the gentleman caller, was struggling to learn lines and was failing to show up for rehearsals. I had to make the call to replace him and found an actor who in turn had better chemistry with the other actors. 3. The original actress cast to play Amanda died suddenly one and a half weeks before the show opened. With the approval of the board of directors and the cooperation of the cast and crew, The show opened one week later than scheduled with a new actress in place. I oversee the advertising activity of a 5-unit chain of grocery stores. My responsibilities include forming and directing the business' strategy for advertising, implementing advertising and marketing campaigns and managing the activities of outside ad agencies. In addition, I create a portion of our business' advertising in-house. Through the introduction of a weekly wine education series, a bi-weekly radio segment on WABF, and a twice-monthly wine column in Buzz Magazine, I market our stores as the industry leader in wine and beer knowledge. I also administer the social media channels for our company and currently working on a YouTube channel to be launched sometime in the Fall.
