Back to Back coverage for Mineral Resources Manager. BackgroundLihir mines approx 50Mt a year from one of the world’s largest gold deposits. It processes approx 5.5Mt of refractory ore in a pressure oxidation plant. Optimal gold production is achieved through efficient management of gold and sulphur blending from mine to mill to meet plant operating parameters.Responsibilities- Operational grade control and project delivery- Assist safe and efficient steam generation from geothermal well field- Ensuring budgeted gold production is achieved- Departmental budgeting, forecasting and cost management- Mentoring and career advancement of all staff

Managed all geological operations of Lihir Gold, with the stabilisation of gold production and 3 years of continuous growth and cost reductions. Managed continued resource growth that added >10Moz of gold until the sale of the operation to Newcrest Mining.Responsibilities- Overall management of all national and ex-pat workforce- Ensuring budgeted gold production is achieved- Delivery and recommendation of resource growth and exploration potential to meet business needs- Departmental budgeting, forecasting and cost management- Government liaison and statutory reporting- Mentoring and career advancement of all staff- Technical assistance/management to Geothermal Steam Fields and Drilling- Responsible for managing US$22M budget (Mine Operations, Resource Development and Exploration)
