I began investing before I was 18. I hired out the work to money managers at an early age. I realized in 2008 that my financial advisors didn't understand the economic warnings from Greenspan and Raghuram Rajan. I made mistakes by not selling enough in 2008 while foolishly applying for jobs. I even made 25% on XLF buying the day before AIG's bailout. I didn't sell that day though. I learned by reading A. Gary Shilling and Nouriel Roubini. I rode the commodities wave of 2010-2011. I pinpointed the problem in 2008 was also savings and commodity based. I looked for a reserve currency. While reading Zerohedge, I found Bitcoin. I didn't make those craigslist trades in front of police stations to start my own exchange. I didn't hire the guys at MSU that I knew were mining it. Since then, I've been enjoying learning the new technologies. I recognize my inability to hire the students who were intrigued in 2012 and 2017. So I'm always pivoting towards a new business. Now, I'm just looking to build a community of NFT analysts as this new asset class has more fraud that the altcoins of 2017. If you can't tell, I don't care about LinkedIn. Enjoy the life in the bears and prepare for the bulls. If you want advice, ask someone how they learned not what they learned. An inability to trust that no one developing Web3 is looking to make a profit off one's naivete' is a psychological and philosophical contradiction. Yes, there are people in the industry who don't what they are doing and constantly misrepresenting themselves. Capitalism will clear them out.
