Jonathan Sinclair is President / Non-fiction at Steel Springs Pictures, with offices in Los Angeles, CA and Adelaide, AUS. Steel Springs Pictures is a production company that develops, produces and co-finances film and television projects which focus on thought-provoking and socially impactful true-life stories. Prior to joining Steel Springs Pictures, Sinclair served as executive vice president of Programming and Development for OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. In this role, Sinclair developed and delivered programming that aligned with Oprah Winfrey’s legacy and expanded the first-rate content of the network. Sinclair first joined Harpo Studios in 1996 as a creative services producer for the Oprah Winfrey Show and during his tenure has held positions with increasing levels of responsibility, including Senior Supervising Producer of Creative Services and Vice President of Development and Supervising Producer for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” 20th Anniversary DVD box set, featuring highlights form 20 years of the #1 daytime talk show on television. Additionally, Sinclair helped develop and produce prime time specials including two annual “Oprah’s Oscar Specials” and “Christmas at the White House” as well as the prime time reality series, “Oprah’s Big Give” all for ABC. Sinclair’s work also includes the seven-part documentary series “Belief,” and the acclaimed docu-series, “Released” both of which he executive produced with Oprah Winfrey. Sinclair developed and was executive producer of the Emmy-nominated series “Oprah’s Master Class” and co-created and produced “Iyanla: Fix My Life”, OWN’s highest rated and longest running unscripted series. He also served as a key member of the team that developed “The Dr. Oz Show” and “The Nate Berkus Show” for syndication.At OWN, Sinclair oversaw the development of several highly successful series’ “Ready to Love,” “Family or Fiancé” and “Love & Marriage: Huntsville”, all which reignited the network’s popular Saturday night’s unscripted lineup. While under his leadership, OWN’s unscripted slate saw dramatic year over year growth leading to multiple renewals as well as a robust development pipeline serving OWN’s core audience.Prior to joining Harpo, Sinclair was a writer and producer of special projects at WDTN-TV in Dayton, OH where he was awarded a National Iris Award and a Regional Emmy. He is also the recipient of seven NAACP Image Awards, several Gracie Awards and multiple Tellys. He began his career as the Creative Services producer and news cameraman at WMGM-TV in Atlantic City, NJ.
