After graduating from university I started with MPG on this project as a labourer, from there I have been promoted to Trainee Site Manager and then to Assistant Site Manager. I have assisted with the multi-trade management of flats from dry-lining 1st fix through to decorating, kitchen and bathrooms, floor finishes and joinery, also including a £2.5 million mechanical and electrical package.Roles and responsibilitiesCreating and maintaining a safe working environment.Managing large blocks of flats at various stages through to finishes, along with the resources required to build them.Deputising for project leaders; including for the mechanical and electrical project leader for 1 month - looking after the mechanical and electrical package including subcontractors Haydon. Ensuring quality requirements to meet high specifications are met.Identifying potential problems with apartment design or configuration at an early stage so that they can be resolved early or passed up the line with a ‘Request For Information' (RFI)Controlling costs and minimising loss, where necessary raising a ‘Non Conformance Report' (NCR).Undertaking functionality and compatibility tests for installed services, ensuring regulations are met including gas safe.Inducting employees: I created a powerpoint induction presentation in my own time so that clever animations helped to make the induction process on site more efficient.
