Design Director
CurrentI have 22 years’ experience as a structural engineer specialising in the design of complex high rise buildings, bridge and stadia structures. During my career I have led the design for numerous high profile projects including the Quadrant Development at Manchester United Football Club, Manchester City Football Academy, Royal Liverpool University Hospital and 9 office buildings in Spinningfields, Manchester. My specialist knowledge includes structural dynamics, in particular crowd induced vibration in stadia and bridges and the response of high rise buildings to wind.In my role as Design Director, I am responsible for developing the conceptual engineering design solutions for all projects. Additionally I am responsible for overseeing our team of designers and our design process. Since joining RoC Consulting, I have been instrumental in shaping the structural design strategies for the projects currently under design. These include: 10-12 Whitworth Street, Clippers Quay, Princess Street, Airport City and others as well as various developments within St. John’s Quarter, Manchester.
