I am working as chief engineer at the University of Bergen where I have been project manager for the Geomagnetic Conditions Expert Service Centre (G-ESC) since it was restarted in 2019. The G-ESC is one of five Expert Service Centres providing data and products to the European Space Agency's Space Weather Service where several universities and institutions across Europe collaborate. Before the re-start of the G-ESC, I was a part of the University of Bergen team making a radiation shutter on a satellite for the SMILE project. My role in the project was product and quality assurance.Until autumn 2016 I worked for Gexcon, a leading consultancy company within industrial explosion safety, when I decided to quit to go travelling in Latin America. For Gexcon I did risk analysis, experimental testing and CFD simulations. My educational background is from the University of Bergen, where I first finished a B.Sc. in physics and then a M.Sc. in optical physics, graduating in 2006. The degree includes courses in a wide array of fields within physics, such as thermodynamics, classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, nuclear physics, atomics physics and of course optics. I have also several courses in mathematics, statistics and programming (LabView, C++, Matlab, Root, Java).

EngineerGexcon As Jan 2008 - Oct 2016Bergen, NorwayI started working as a risk analyst doing mainly gas and dust explosion risk assessments and CFD-simulations of explosions using the in-house developed software FLACS. For several years I performed most of Gexcon's commercial dust explosion projects and participated at training courses for both internal and external new users. While working as a risk analyst I also participated at several explosion testing projects. I found this interesting and wanted to do more of these projects to get a deeper knowledge of explosions. Consequently I was transferred to the laboratories department where I did both standardised and customised explosions tests on materials and equipment.I was project manager for most of the projects I participated on and was involved all the way from proposal to reporting.
