Facility Chief Information Officer
CurrentResponsible for certification and accreditation of two information systems as well as Business Continuity Planning and Target Recovery Objectives. Oversees network security, including change and patch management, configuration management, infrastructure, hardware and software security, and physical security of assets. Responsible agent for internal and external audits, and ensures compliance with NIST, ISO, and VA Information Security standards. Develops and upkeeps local Standard Operating Procedures. Member of several national workgroups, including IT Customer Service Improvement Council (BRM), CIO Performance Standards, Knowledge Management, and Regional CIO Consortium. Involved in hiring boards for local staff and sister stations when needed. Manages a budget of $1M+, develops annual budgetary operational plan, oversees all procurement, maintenance of systems, and obligation and authorization of all funds related to IT operations and contracts. Serves as business-line manager for daily IT operations of Regional Office in support of almost 900 local and remote users. Manages all major IT planning and oversees projects related to infrastructure, technical refresh, and equipment distribution. Directs and guides development of local IT solutions such as in-house asset tracking, IT help-desk, and automation software. Developed local IT Contingency/Disaster Recovery plans based upon Business Continuity Planning and planned local IT Contingency Plan and COOP desktop exercises on a semi-annual basis.
