Responsible for managing the engineering department for Cool Clean Technologies – a spin-off of Chart Industries. Cool Clean is a privately-held technology company with a primary focus on using carbon dioxide to replace hazardous solvents and water in critical cleaning applications. Applications range from extraction plants to automated spray cleaning system in the automotive and electronics industries, as well as systems to replace flooded lubricants in machining applications.- Active in finding and developing new applications for our CO2 cleaning technology and the associated business development necessary to bring these applications to market.- Developed novel cannabis extraction equipment using liquid CO2 as a solvent. Systems can process hundreds of pounds of cannabis per day removing cannabinoids such as CBD and THC from the material without fats and waxes.- Successfully lead the engineering group in developing multiple other new products. These include systems for the cleaning of medical device implants, hard disk drives, optics, automotive paint preparation, decontamination of fire gear and other PPE, dry cleaning of textiles, and many other applications such as extraction of lipids from biofuels and contaminants from silicone.- Developed systems for remote machine diagnostics and the use of AI to analyze large quantities of machine data- Developed and managed external suppliers/fabricators for Cool Clean’s products in India, Taiwan, China and the Czech Republic. This includes developing relationships with the suppliers and working with external engineering groups on new product design and design improvements.- Overall responsibility for maintaining and developing Cool Clean’s intellectual property. This includes strategic partnerships with other organizations and management of technology license agreements with the Battelle Memorial Institute, Raytheon Technologies, and Micell Technologies, as well as the management of more than 60 patents.

Development Manager – CO2 Cleaning Technologies• Product manager for a new environmentally friendly liquid carbon dioxide dry cleaning product line- Successfully brought the first commercial CO2 dry cleaning machine to market within one year of the start of the project and $300,000 under budget.- Management of seven direct full time employees including engineers, designers, and field service technicians.- Responsible for finding and developing other applications for our CO2 cleaning technology, including degreasing and precision cleaning applications.- Liaison between the CO2 Cleaning Technologies group and other Chart divisions, particularly with large industrial gas companies interested in the CO2 dry cleaning market.- Responsible for the development of standards for the delivery and replenishment of CO2 at the dry cleaner in a safe and efficient manner.- Management of all intellectual property related to CO2 cleaning developed within Chart and negotiating and maintaining licensing agreements with prospective partners. - Responsible for maintaining a $2.2 million research and development budget. - Complete profit and loss responsibilities for this product line.Design Engineer • Responsible in a Project Manager/Design Engineer capacity for finding new applications and markets for cryogenic products and supporting these markets with new and innovative designs.

Collaboration between the Superconducting Super Collider Laboratoryand the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique Saclay, France HEB Quadrupole Magnet Design Team • Responsible for the mechanical design and analysis of a superconducting quadrupole magnet build to print package to be designed and prototyped in France, then produced in large quantities by a small disadvantaged company in the United States. Additional responsibilities included: - Performance of all structural and thermal analyses by hand calculations and finite element analysis, as well as all ASME pressure vessel calculations required for the design of the magnet. - Approval of all magnet component drawings and the magnet design. - Translation of magnet component and fabrication specifications from French into English. - Liaison between the French and American laboratories. - System administrator for a group of SUN workstations.Magnet Division Dallas, TX• Performed structural finite element analysis on various superconducting magnet designs.• Developed computer routines to automate finite element model generation of superconducting magnet components, reducing the time required to design a magnet by 70%.• Generated, analyzed, and maintained magnet construction and test data.• Supported drawing and fabrication activities on superconducting magnet designs.
