Rocketdyne

Canoga Park, Ca

I worked at Rocketdyne from 1988 to September 2015, but during that period we went through four different owners moving from Rockwell to Boeing to Pratt & Whitney, and finally in 2013 we were acquired by GenCorp and became Aerojet Rocketdyne. Below I listed my most recent assignments with the company. Changes in assignment have not lined up with changes in the company ownership, so instead of showing multiple companies for the same basic assignment, I've just shown the company title that was in place for the majority of the assignment. Before Rocketdyne I worked for nine years at Garrett in Phoenix. That company has also gone through numerous ownership changes and is now part of Honeywell. Garrett was where I gained my initial experience in gas turbines and Project Engineering; experience that has served me well during my career at Rocketdyne.

Technology Manager - Engineering

Los Angeles

Responsible for the implementation and leadership for the company's Integrated Technology Management Process. Originally started at Pratt &Whitney Rocketdyne, the process is now being implemented across the entire Aerojet Rocketdyne enterprise. In addition to creating and maintaining an extensive database for the company's technology portfolio, I developed comprehensive processes for technology development planning and readiness assessments. I spend much of my time working with engineers across the company to establish development plans with clear success criteria. I also work with the program and business strategy organization to develop roadmaps that show how these technologies support the company's overall business objectives. The process is also linked to our Intellectual Property activities. Patents and trade secrets are linked in the database to the technologies they support. I am one of four core members that sits on the company's IP Board where decisions are made regarding the disposition of new disclosures.
