In this role I led the strategic and operational delivery of a number of corporate functions for the department including, capital works projects, facilities management, leasing, asset management, security policy, security operations, business continuity, sustainability, corporate wardrobe, and shared services to other departments.The Commonwealth Department of Human Services includes Centrelink, Medicare Australia, Child Support Agency, Commonwealth Rehabilitation Services and Hearing Australia.

Tuggeranong Act

My responsibilities included leadership of two concurrent new greenfield building projects, a 26,000m2 building in Greenway ACT and a 9,600m2 building in Forrest ACT. The role covered the end to end components of the project including: negotiation of the agreement to Design, Construct and Lease; design of the base building and fitout, risk management, procurement, contract management, project management, stakeholder and expectation management, change management, communications, and relocations.Both projects were delivered on time, on cost, on quality and fit for purpose.

Canberra

In this role I provided strategic leadership and oversight of the base building refurbishment, fitout design, and trade procurement of the 44,000m2 Edmund Barton Building in Barton ACT. Converting this heritage listed Seidler building into a secure and highly enabled building required the establishment of a shared vision across multidisciplinary teams, a clear understanding of the real business need and expectation management, overlaid by the relevant legislated and security requirements.

Canberra Act

As the Project Director I was responsible for the strategic and successful delivery of multiple complex projects including the Department’s new head office accommodation in Canberra involving the design and construction of a 37,000m2 fitout, relocation of the Departments 2260 head office staff to new accommodation in Civic and an ICT disaster recovery, central registry, laboratory and storage facility in Fyshwick.

Woden Act

As the Manager of Property and Services I was responsible for the strategic planning, budget development, management and the effective delivery of key facilities related services across IP Australia’s national property portfolio

Canberra Act

Xact Project Consultants is a “client-side” project management company that acts on behalf of their client to manage projects and act as their advocate. This was a six month position with the company with the possibility of continuance dependant on the workload. My role with the company was to manage individual projects for the company and to provide assistance to the other Project Managers on the major infrastructure and feasibility projects
