Led medical device startup from product inception through sales launch in ten countries overseas and first $10M sales milestone. Performed all duties of CEO, CFO and COO. The Elipse® device is a non-surgical stomach implant that was EU approved in 2015 and has become the category leader everywhere launched. During my tenure we grew from three to 65 people.

Initially brought on as a consultant by sponsor Bain Capital following financial crisis at this $60M revenue operator of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Successfully stabilized operations, improving run-rate EBITDA from $3MM to $7MM and leading 200 employees through turnaround.

Joined 20-person venture-backed startup as first finance leader and right-hand to CEO. Created three-statement financial projections model. Instrumental in raising $30M D-round. Built financial infrastructure that supported scale-up from R&D to plant construction and operation in Kentucky.

Led investment process including detailed due diligence on distressed and highly leveraged healthcare companies. Recruited, trained and mentored top-tier junior staff. Worked through bankruptcies both as lender and as opportunistic investor. Built portfolio of $1.5bn while the firm grew from ten to over 100 employees.

Developed strategies and growth opportunities for consumer-facing healthcare, retail and finance clients. Notable projects included new product development, Rx to OTC pharmaceutical conversion and retail customer targeting algorithms.
