Jonah Brainard is a Junior at Ithaca College pursuing a Bachelors degree in Film, Photo, and Visual arts. He has had a passion for filmmaking since his first exposure to it as a freshman in high school. Over the past 7 years Jonah has competed in multiple media competitions produced by the Technology Student Association, has gained on set experience in almost every role from student film sets, and has produced, directed, and shot, two personal films. In addition, Jonah has a plethora of editing projects underneath of his belt. Thanks to student film projects, he is proficient in Adobe Premiere and knowledge in Davinci. Jonah has also begun a passion for photography. Constantly upgrading his gear, he loves to explore the surrounding areas and shoot nature and wildlife imagery. Currently more of a hobby, Jonah hopes to incorporate his love for the outdoors into some part of his professional work. Right now, Jonah is employed as a productions crew member for Ithaca College's student production unit, Park Productions. Hired as a freshman, Jonah has been apart of countless projects including the Coca-Cola Refreshing Films Competition in 2023, a wedding documentary, as well as film production titled "The Graveyard Shift". Jonah is additionally in post production of his student film "Intrusion". Collaborating with students, professors, professional actors, and industry level composers, Jonah is excited to showcase this off in December.Jonah has received the highest quality of learning and experiences at Ithaca College and finds that he could be very useful apart of a production team. He loves working with people and also brings a positive attitude in order to spread it amongst everyone else. Outside of school however, Jonah has gained experience in the freelance side of filmmaking. Back home in Gettysburg, PA, Jonah has worked with local businesses to create unique and high quality promotional videos. In collaboration with Turnhouse10Media, Jonah has also shot several weddings, working with other professionals in the world of freelance.Jonah loves storytelling, especially through psychological thrillers, but also is heavily persuaded by freelance and environmental photography. He would love a career choice that would allow him to do a little bit of everything.
