I worked for Valvoline Instant Oil Change on & off for 2 years here in Toledo. I worked at both the Central Ave and Airport Hwy locations. My job as a Senior Technician at Valvoline consisted of an 18-point vehicle inspection. When working top-side, technicians would start with a safety check by making sure all lights on the vehicle work, then making sure the wiper blades were in good condition as well. The technicians would then move to checking and refilling vehicle fluids such as power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid, and refilling coolant/antifreeze. The next step for the top-side technicians after checking fluids would be to pull and inspect the engine air filter and the cabin air filter for possible replacement. After both of those are completed, technicians move onto airing up all 4 tires on the vehicle. The last step would be adding the correct oil to the vehicle after the bottom-side technician communicates that it is ready for oil.The other parts of the job would be the Customer Service Advisor, or CSA, would be in the window with the customer going over the extra services that were mileage based recommendations that we provide at Valvoline. Such as; tire rotations, transmission services, radiator services, Front/Rear differential services, Transfer Case service, Air Conditioning service, 2-Part Fuel System Cleaning service.After explaining all of the recommended services to the guest, the CSA would then review the invoice of what was done to the vehicle today and then go over pricing and proceed to the cash out stage.The last role would be the bottom-side technicians who are doing the oil change itself. Removing the old oil filter to replace with a new one. Pulling the oil drain plug to drain out the old oil for fresh oil to go in. They would then communicate with the top-side technicians that oil is ready to be put in.Some more roles as a Senior Technician would be handling bank deposits, setting a floor plan, and establishing breaks.
