My goal is to apply my passion for engineering and medicine to develop tools, processes, and products such as implants, prostheses and surgical devices that radically improve lives. My studies in both biomedical and mechanical engineering at Colorado State University have provided me with extensive experience working individually and on teams to complete a wide range of biomedical engineering projects. I have extensive skills in Creo Parametric, Solidworks, ANSYS Finite Element, ANSYS Fluent and ABAQUS.****Engineering Projects****Mechanical Bladder for UC Health: Collaborate on a team of 5 students for Senior Design Practicum using validation and testing methods to functionally integrate a synthetic device into the body to replace a dysfunctional bladder. Developed a way to permanently attach synthetic biocompatible material to biological material of the ureters. Used Solidworks to design a 3D software image.Biplanar Unilateral External Fixation Device: Designed, modeled and analyzed a method of fixation around a tibia 6mm spiral fracture to optimize the mechanical environment required within the fracture area as well as optimize stress and strain values in both the bone and device using ABAQUS software. Analysis and testing was conducted on multiple rendered models and compared.Engineering Design: Used ANSYS Finite Element Analysis and Fluent: Computational Fluid Dynamics to design,test and analyze simple simulation models for a number of engineering applications including failure theories, heat transfer and compressible flow. Designed and manufactured a robotic, RC car type, device able to competitively race around a track. Created a project plan, Design Structure Matrix, Gantt Charts, Quality Function Deployment Matrix. Designed a computer generated 3D model of a space satellite using Creo Parametric.Mechatronics Class: Collaborated on a team of 4 students to design and develop an interactive newspaper stand composed of actuators, sensors, output display, output audio, logic and user input abilities.Manufacturing Class: Followed a process sheet and diagram to create vice grips and a personalized clock using various manufacturing machines and and tools.
