Hello! I have eclectic teaching and performing experience in percussion including drum set, steel pan, keyboard percussion, orchestral percussion, marching percussion, jazz vibraphone, tabla, and Afro-Brazilian instruments.Regarding solo playing, I was a featured soloist on the 10th anniversary of the Northern Illinois University (NIU) New Music Festival as well as the 2023 Bowling Green State University Faculty Composers’ Forum Concert. I have also performed concerti with the Lincoln Youth Symphony as well as Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra. I performed a steel pan concerto with LSO after winning their Young Artist Competition in 2019. I was also accepted into the prestigious Cortona Marimba Sessions program where I spent a week in Italy learning from—and making music with—other percussionists from around the world.Regarding ensemble playing, I performed with the World Class Drum Corps International group, Spirit of Atlanta, in 2018. The following year, I played with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in their showcase concert at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis after the ensemble won the International Percussion Ensemble Competition. In that same year, I performed with double second steel pans on legendary steel pannist Jonathan Scales’ album, Mindstate Music.More recently, I composed and performed on my 2022 debut album, “Togetherness,” with my band Past Casual. The album is all original music and seamlessly combined jazz and pop in a unique way. I performed numerous times with this band, including the Lincoln Calling Music Festival and Hear Grand Island in the summer of 2022. I also played berimbau with the renowned Arcomusical, a non-profit organization dedicated to the tradition and innovation of the musical bow, for two years. Most recently, I participated in the 2023 Cortona Marimba Sessions in Italy.I graduated in 2021 from UNL with a B.M. in percussion performance under Dr. Dave Hall. I graduated with highest distinction for my academic performance as well as my undergraduate thesis on the programming decisions of steel band directors in the United States. I graduated in 2024 from NIU with a M.M. in percussion performance under Dr. Greg Beyer and Ben Wahlund, where I served as the percussion area's sole Graduate Assistant for two years. Currently, I am a graduate teaching fellow at the University of North Texas, where I am pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in percussion performance under Mark Ford, Dr. Dave Hall, and Paul Rennick.
