Being promoted to lead the Platform Team I had been working with as Delivery Manager was a fantastic honour. I have been blessed to help guide a team of 30 smart and kind platform engineers through some exciting and innovative enhancements to the platform and a period of improved cost, security and operational governance. I’m immensely proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in the last 4 years:- Enabled developer self-service of cloud infrastructure by building and deploying an automated Terraform pipeline, alongside dozens of Terraform modules and training 200 developers in basic Terraform workflows.- Built a reliable, secure pattern to deploy kubernetes clusters to host 500 microservices that were migrated from Puppet-managed CentOS7 servers.- Implemented cost optimisation techniques (such as scheduling, spot instances, savings plans, private pricing agreements, automating snapshot tidy ups and optimising architecture) to reduce ITV’s cloud costs by $3m per year.- Packaged platform improvements to our common CI/CD workflows, observability tooling and kubernetes cluster configuration into a monthly platform release. 41 releases later, this process helps us keep the 40 instances of the Common Platform up-to-date and highly-aligned.- And lots, lots more!All the while, myself and the team have improved the operational excellence of the platform. As Agile Delivery Manager for a platform devleopment team that build cloud native hosting and development platforms on AWS that are used by the ITV product development teams to host commercially important and public facing services such as the ITV Hub.The platforms used technologies such as Terraform and Kubernetes to deliver an automated, reliable and secure platform that could scale to meet the demands of ratings topping shows night-after-night, but still be developer friendly enough that our product development teams are empowered to move rapidly and safely.As Agile Delivery Manager, I have used SCRUM, Kanban and a mix of anything that works to improve both the quantity and quality of the platform development team's output.In my earlier role as an Infrastructure Project Manager, I was working across multiple projects in parallel where my responsibilities included:- Leading a multi-site network infrastructure refresh at locations across the UK- Minimising the risk of completing major network changes within an active broadcast television news environment- Executing on site changes with a team of Network Engineers and broadcast technology specialists- Co-ordinating the selection process for a new supplier of key workplace technology- Development of a platform management strategy to reduce operational risk of outdated technologies being used to underpin key applications

After promotion to this new role, I have continued my projects on client site and focused greater on business analysis tasks, though a roughly equal amount of time has been spent on project management. I am currently delivering cost effective IT and customer services projects to help an East London Local Authority deliver better public services at more sustainable cost.I have honed skills in: - Requirement gathering and options analysis. - Project and programme planning, including resourcing and scheduling. - Project and programme proposal writing. - Risk management. - Dependency mapping. - Stakeholder management. - Effective communications.

Having successfully graduated from the Agilisys Internship, I was resourced to Elevate East London – Agilisys’ multi-million pound partnership with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham (LBBD), as a Junior Business Change Manager. In this role I would develop business analysis and project management skills under the guidance of a more senior colleague.
