About Jonah Foley
I am an FPGA Engineer experienced in designing and implementing systems for cutting edge applications. I recently joined Cambridge based Nu Quantum, with the goal of building control systems on FPGA platforms to realise a novel quantum computer architecture. Previously I have worked at Jump Trading in the field of low-latency trading where I developed hardware network interfaces on cutting edge FPGA devices to meet the growing bandwidth and latency requirements of modern trading systems.During my time at university I undertook various projects. Notably my 3rd year dissertation investigated a novel communication scheme called 'Index Modulated OFDM' under Prof. Sheng Chen, for which I was awarded the Chelton prize and subsequently achieved the Zepler Prize for highest 3rd-year grades in the cohort, and the Specal Zepler Prize for the highest 4th-year grades.

I became a UKESF Scholar around Christmas 2020, which allowed me to join a network of young engineers that helped to grow the future of engineering. This was achieved both in industry via my summer placement with Plextek, as well as in the classroom with the various outreach activities which I have participated in as part of UKESF. This was to help grow.
