- Leads the agile software development project team for the Enterprise Architecture and Planning division’s GEAR web application, which houses the authoritative source of the Agency’s application, technology, and FISMA system inventories. The new release of GEAR 2.0 enables managers to add/edit/delete their data in real time via open source technologies, eliminating the need for annual spend on costly enterprise licenses for proprietary software.- Manages the database for the GEAR application by performing administration functions like user access control, data quality assurance, and database schema rebuilds. This is done using Microsoft SQL Server and IBM Rational System Architect (currently in production) and using MySQL Workbench (currently in development). Ensures the production website is always available by monitoring the servers’ operation and performance.- Implements the data migration process from IBM Rational System Architect to MySQL - Led the application rationalization process for the Office of Government-wide Policy (OGP) using Gartner’s tolerate, invest, migrate, eliminate (TIME) methodology, which consisted of several sprints and numerous meetings with applications’ business and technical points of contact in order to determine how an application fits in the office’s IT portfolio. After all of the information gathering was completed, four-year roadmaps were provided to application managers to recommend that they tolerate an application, invest in it, migrate to a different platform or application, or eliminate the application due to redundancy.
