There are plenty of voices discussing the problems in the world.This is very important work, and I’m grateful to the people who are sharing those insights and helping us stay up-to-date with the issues of our time.It’s too easy, though, to get swamped by all of the crises and bad actors facing us, and lose sight of:1) What we actually want to create for the futureand2) What we can do about it on an individual levelThis compounds over time, leading people into a state of overwhelm and fear with no clear ideas on what can be done - perhaps most importantly, no clear ideas on what THEY can do personally.This is an unsustainable position and, as a result, many are overtaken by a sense of being hopeless and helpless, perhaps losing themselves in depression or escapism.Others find themselves whipped up into a fury and end up expending a lot of time and energy in debates (read: arguments) online or in real life which achieve little more than fanning flames of anger and division without moving anyone closer to positive solutions.Alternatively, others may choose to soldier on and try to make their little corner of the world a better place, but inwardly they feel lonely and outnumbered in an uphill battle with no clear end in view. My intention with The Fractal Effect is to share INFORMED optimism, clarity, and practical resources with others like myself who see the problems in the world and want to play their part in contributing to the solutions.My beliefs about this subject are as follows:• Yes, we are living in critical times with threats on many fronts and it is important to be well-informed about the nature of those threats• We CAN in fact deal with those threats intelligently and intentionally• Not only that, but we have the opportunity to create a future worth striving for• There are important steps that we can each take as individuals to positively impact our lives and our communities• Many are already dedicating their lives to this and there are, in fact, more with us than there are against usIN CONCLUSIONIt’s not enough to be focused on the problems we want to fight against, we need to align our thoughts, words, and actions with a goal of the future we want to create.With so much dissonance and confusion in the world, we need to focus more of our energy on creating resonance, harmony, and clarity.The Fractal Effect is part of my effort to help people achieve this as individuals, families, and communities.
