Hello! I'm a budding Sustainable Development expert with a particular interest in consultancy, sustainable construction and food who’s currently pursuing an MSc in Sustainable Development at UWE Bristol.Before embarking on this new course, I enjoyed (and still enjoy!) a fulfilling career as a freelance German, Swedish, French and Dutch translator with a specialisation in sustainability. This sharpened my communication and linguistic skills and exposed me to some of the ground-breaking innovations in sustainable construction, including Passivhaus, modular and zero-waste building designs. It also gave me the opportunity to contribute to a sustainability report for the German government.My academic background is a blend of diverse disciplines. I initially pursued a degree in the History of Art at Cambridge, followed by French studies in Paris and a year as a Herchel Smith scholar at Harvard, where—among other things—I took Rory Stewart’s course in Human Rights at the Kennedy School. While working as a translator, I simultaneously earned an MA in Translation from Bristol University, learned German and Dutch at Johannes Gutenberg University in Germany and studied Swedish at Lund University in Sweden, where I also took a course on entrepreneuship.My goal is to harness my multifaceted skills and experience to carve out a new green career path and help make a real contribution to a more sustainable future.
