Unit manager for Humanised Autonomy at RISE Mobility and Systems - leading a brilliant team of 16 researchers in the area of interplay between humans and AI in sustainable mobility.

In my work as consultant in Human Factors & Systems Safety, I work with the challenges of managing the complexity and variety of daily operations to achieve a balance between safety and productivity in complex socio-technical systems. Success requires a holistic view of how people and technology interact and are affected by their context. Here, I work to show how safety and productivity can go hand in hand.

My research concerned operator work in control rooms/centres mainly in the energy production and process industry domains. In such complex socio-technical systems the operators in the control room have a crucial role for effective and safe production. Appropriate information is important to maintain effective supervisory control, which has a direct impact on use of resources and operational safety. The aim of the research was to develop tools to deal with human-automation related challenges in control rooms. One part part of this was to support the design of information visualisation in the control room.I also gave lectures and supervised master’s theses within the subject of human-machine systems and human factors engineering.
