Process Technician
CurrentDuties1. Performed routine visual checks on equipment and listened for any unusual noises or vibrations.2. Shutting and starting up of production facility. 3. Preparation of new process line tie-up when modification for facility to improve production output and cost-saving are studied. 4. Participate in team process drills by using “what –if” technique to analyse possible instrumentation failure, equipment failure, and hazards that maybe surface during normal plant operation.5. Participate in Turnaround events where new pipeline tie-in is required for future projects modification for blending and increase productivity.Key competencies / skills:1. Familiar to the different types and its characteristic of fuel oil produced in the refinery.2. Good Process Knowledge for both the Crude Distillation and Fluid Catalytic Cracking units.3. Able to read and interpret the P&ID effectively, examples are to identify and codes for the type of line service/class, pressure rating and etc. 4. Able to perform predictive and root cause analysis of problems and then initiate corrective action.5. Practical experience on pump switching, bypassing exchangers, isolation lock in tag out procedures, steaming and purging of towers, for maintenance department people to work safety on.6. Preparation of new-pipe line tie-in for plant modification.
