As SESC has a publishing company that plays a critical role in the country’s cultural space, I was offered the Marketing & Events Manager role. Their publishing company was opened in two thousand and ten. I was responsible for operational management, market research, exploring new authors, and leasing with stakeholders for new partnerships.• I was in charge of the international bookselling event (Bienal do Livro), which included attractions such as authors’ book autographs, book launches, panel discussions, etc. During the organisation of this bi-yearly event, I managed three hundred people, keeping attention to detail and attending to the employee’s needs. I also managed the creation process of all national events.• Leased with third parties, press, and governmental institutions, for events creation and management, ensuring the right amount of personnel, following the government requirements, and guaranteeing backup if needed.• Implemented Sapiens, a logistic and financial system similar to SAP, to improve time management, track requests, cost, printing and shipments, and support and enhance workflow.

Playing already a critical role within the Marketing Department, working since its establishment, I got promoted to marketing and sales supervisor. This experience awakened my leadership and people management skills. With the support of the different stakeholders, I created the action plan for the new permanent stores, and we managed to open forty-two stores around the country in the different SESCs. I was responsible for product sales, logistics and handling all marketing practices to boost sales.• Promoted stores on all social media available at the time and managed newsletters, apart from designing posters and flyers, to ensure brand identity. I maintained all social media activity to keep the customers updated.• I managed to approve and implement the first online store of the institution. We were a pioneer governmental institution to have an online store, and with it carried out new automated processes such as virtual invoicing.• I was directly responsible for a fixed team of twenty employees, supervising their daily tasks on handling sales and marketing activities, providing best practice training and policy refreshers, and ensuring to follow company protocols. I also indirectly managed more than two-hundred indirect employees who handled logistics and product manufacturing tasks.
