Developed a new concept which aimed to create a more liberating and enhanced scuba diving experience, within the area of dive computers. We worked with Poseidon Diving Systems AB in this project and used a user-centered design approach based on thorough pre-studies towards both existing- and new potetential users within the recreational segment. The results of the thesis was a combined concept of both hard- ware and software.A new dive computer, named Riptide, is a radically new and dramatically simpli ed product that focuses on the essential needs of a scuba diver. It allows the diver to focus on the experience rather than having to monitor technical equipment. Accompanying this, a new digital platform called Reef was also developed in which the diver sets up the safe paramaters of the dive. Through Reef, users will also be able to share the community of diving, learn more about the sport, enjoy gami cation features based on experi- ence and much more.In addition, we developed a new graphical profile for Poseidon to go along with this new concept. A short movie and image material was also produced to showcase and spread the word about the experience of diving.
