My focus was on construction law, tenancy, real estate law and general business law. I was however often involved in matters in related areas such as law of planning and building and environmental law. The majority of my daily work concerned litigation, drafting of contracts, transactions and general legal counsel. For a time I also worked in the firm’s business group Mergers and Acquisitions. In larger cases I worked under the supervision of a partner or senior associate, but in medium-sized and smaller matters I was in increasing frequency acting as project manager. Moreover, I participated in the firm’s extensive training program and I myself gave lectures both internally and externally in areas such as construction, environmental and tenancy law.Working at Mannheimer Swartling gave me experience of large projects with short deadlines and sometimes high pressure, combined with very high standards of quality. It was a very stimulating job which constantly developed both my professional and personal skills.

During the majority of my time at the court I worked at a special department - consisting of one judge, one law clerk and two court secretaries - only handling major civil cases with a special focus on conciliation and settlements. My job was to prepare and handle the department’s cases, keep minutes at hearings, interact with the parties and their attorneys and write draft rulings in all cases. This gave me as a law clerk an unusual amount of responsibility and considerable experience of civil cases.In addition, I worked at a regular court department with more traditional law clerk responsibilities, such as handling and judging small claims cases, various court matters and minor criminal cases. Furthermore, I served as recording clerk at countless major civil and criminal cases.
