Why do people study the timber industry in Germany these days, when everyone else is talking about AI, autonomous driving and Industry 4.0? Because I believe that the timber industry will become the next key industry in Germany. Why do I believe that?In my opinion, the timber industry stands on three pillars. These are the economy, innovation and sustainability.Why economy? For me, economy refers to all aspects that can be associated with "earning money". Because even if time is not money, money is very much time and without this interaction nothing is possible. Neither professionally nor privately. I am convinced that there is enormous economic potential in the timber industry that only needs to be awakened.Why innovation? Innovation has always been the key to the further development of mankind and all its sub-sectors. It is only through our innovations that we are where we are today. Think of all the different tools that are used in the wood industry today. All these small and big things have been innovations and we are far from the end of this journey.Why sustainability?I understand sustainability to mean the UN's 17 SDGs ( 17 Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs | BMUV). From my perspective, the timber industry is predestined to provide answers to many of these goals. After all, the timber industry can simultaneously enable social advancement for people and help combat climate change.That's why I'm studying forestry and I believe it will be the next key industry.It will not be an easy path, but I am looking forward to this adventure. With the different skills I have acquired through my studies, I am able to find a solution to the problems in the timber industry. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead, because I always do my tasks with one motto: "Do it or don't do it. There is no try. ( Master Yoda)
