As NEXX's first ever intern, I learned a great deal about composites and was able to make a meaningful impact on the company during my time. I implemented new processing standards to reduce layup time by 40% and isolate stress concentrations, which mitigated failures. I developed and iterated rheology-based cure profiles to improve surface quality, achieving <1% void content out-of-autoclave. To characterize physical properties, I produced precise carbon fiber and fiberglass panels (up to 24 plies) that complied with ASTM standards. In one of my major projects, I programmed an Excel spreadsheet to organize a chemical experiment, whereby I determined a new resin formula used in thousands of dollars of product.

At this summer camp, for two years I led the STEM group, a team of thirty students from first through sixth grade, orchestrating engineering-based projects and delivering lessons on fundamental scientific concepts. To improve my efficacy as a STEM leader, I conversed and collaborated with local teachers, youth engagement professionals, and experts of varying scientific fields with education backgrounds. Additionally, I am a six-time Best Costume Champion of our camp’s weekly dress-up days.

After attending the Sunday school and Hebrew school at CBT since Kindergarten, I became a lead Teaching Assistant, working with the Director of Education, as well as various teachers, to guide programs for the whole school as well as individual classes. I led group discussions, delivered interactive lectures, taught 2nd-3rd Grade Hebrew fundamentals, and personally developed 4th-7th Grade curriculum. During the pandemic, I collaborated with fellow TA Nick Matusoff to shift our synagogue to virtual and hybrid learning models for all ranges of grade levels.

My videos were used in online advertising campaigns as well as major events, including the 2018 Maccabi Games, which gathered over 3,000 athletes from around the world. I also edited videos for the 120 exchange program teens, hosts, and family members involved in the Global Teen Fellows program.
