As head of an international, multi-location BI department, my responsibilities include setting the BI and Master Data strategy for DFDS going forward, managing a department of dedicated data professionals, and participating in the selection of initiatives for our digital transformation.Succeeded in improving our decision making through data by focusing on improving data availability and data ability. The former by building a Data Delivery Platform based on data virtualization and introducing a new meta-data based information portal. The platform allows access to near real-time and data at different levels of maturity and provides shorter time to market on business development. Various job functions including installation of hardware/software, responsibility for the backup of important and confidential data, and hardware and software support for the 50+ users (in-house and salesmen on the road). The company worked closely with Mercedes-Benz’s financing company in Denmark. Among other assignments we set up a POS-system for them, so the salespersons could send loan-applications to the financing branch and they could print out contracts at the stores.
