Project lead for delivery of the Bookstores’ e-commerce platform upgrade from a Perl CGI application to Drupal Commerce. The Bookstores’ e-commerce site serves the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Rochester, Morris, and Crookston campuses and generates over $10M per year. Our new site (bookstores.umn.edu) launched March 2018.--Led the research and selection of Drupal Commerce as the best upgrade solution. Drupal Commerce was selected because it is open source software, has a large community for support, and is easily customizable.--Worked with marketing and operations staff to gather requirements, improve order processing functionality, build wireframes, and set project timelines.--Developed 25 custom modules to automate data migrations, process orders, accept payment, and integrate third party applications.--Managed and prioritized deliverables for a contract front end developer.--Built and executed load tests prior to launch to ensure performance under peak number of users.--Created an internal knowledge base for frequently asked questions and training documentation for staff.--Led the scheduling, communication, and coordination of the launch.--Trained colleagues to diagnose and resolve issues.On-going post launch work.--Manage and perform deployment of all new code releases.--Compile and analyze data for marketing and operations staff to recognize the amount of work accomplished by staff, guide decision making, and to identify areas of improvement.--Lead monthly meeting with order processing staff from all campus locations to improve communication, generate ideas, and address issues in an open forum.--Project lead for upgrade from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8.

Develop, maintain and support mission-critical applications and Web sites for the University of Minnesota. Create applications and dynamic, database-driven Web sites using state-of-the-art technologies and provides support for existing applications. Projects cover both interactive instructional/teaching applications and business-oriented administrative systems, so there are many interesting challenges in a variety of areas, from large-scale database applications to immersive, collaborative learning environments.
