In this tenure-track faculty position, I serve as part of the librarian management team, supervise Circulation and ILL departments and 2 FTE staff. As Circulation department head, guided the library through a migration of the consortial ILS (Capital City Libraries) to a new consortium (Joint Library Catalog) and new servers at the Consortium Library at UAA/APU in Anchorage. Prepared reserves collections for migration and participated in the JLC Circulation workgroup testing prior to migration. Introduced new services for students including self-service reserved study rooms, the Awesome Box (patron book recommendation system) and the “Featured Collection” of popular, leisure reading materials. Chair of the One Campus One Book (OCOB) committee, serving as the primary coordinator of all related events on campus and the development of an OCOB Student Internship. Served on several other campus committees (Orientation, FYE, Faculty Senate, Campus Events). Selected for participation in the 2013 Pacific Northwest Library Association Leadership Academy. Presented at Alaska Library Association Annual Conferences in 2014-2016 and at ACRL 2015.

On air, volunteer host of a variety of music and spoken word programs. Regular weekly host 2007-2008, occasional, fill-in or rotating weekly host 2003-2022.

Served as part of the management team, lead strategic planning and visioning processworking toward construction of a new library facility. Managed collection development,user access and configuration for all subscription electronic resources and providedoutreach (marketing) and training to staff and the public in the use of these resources.Served on adult materials selection committee and as project coordinator for eRatetelecom subsidy and the Alaska OWL Project. In collaboration with the ProgrammingLibrarian, researched and facilitated visiting authors, video conference programs,community writing workshops and other public programs. Managed budgets related tomarketing and public programming. Served on several statewide committees (AKStatewide Databases, Electronic Resource Managers of Alaska and OWL AdvisoryBoard) working toward effective collaboration and resource sharing between libraries ofall types.

Wrote poetry and Alaskana book reviews.

Circulation, account services, general assistance with locating collection materials and other materials to fulfill information need.

Provide reference services (e-mail and face to face) and distance education resource support for students on and off campus. Assist off-campus students with remote database access problems and provide in-library users with instruction in the use of electronic resources. Aid on-campus students in locating print and electronic materials and troubleshoot wireless network access and networked printing. Participate in review of collection development sources, weeding projects and forward materials requests to appropriate staff. Supervise one student circulation worker and track material/equipment usage and reference questions for library statistics.This is an ongoing adjunct position. I am not currently working but will cover some shifts in June.

o maintain activity in the library community during my job search I have been volunteering 8 hours a week in two volunteer roles. At the Title Wave Used Bookstore, I have been maintaining store inventory, sorting, pricing and stocking as well as aiding customers in locating materials arranged using the DDC. As Technohost at the North Portland Branch Computer Lab, I have been assisting lab users with their computer questions, from navigating online job applications, basic instruction in using the Microsoft Windows operating system, to Office and Explorer tutorials. In addition to aiding users, I maintain the reservation and check in system, answer and transfer a multiple line phone system and refer lab users to computer courses offered by the library.

In cooperation with Library staff, describe historical photographs to be uploaded to the Alaska Digital Archive (http://vilda.alaska.edu/) database using Dublin Core, LCSH and local name authority schema in CONTENTdm environment. Develop workflow process for manual migration of 8 and 16mm motion picture film to BetaSP>DV Tape> DVD. Create digital objects from images of historical documents.

Provided physical, academic and social/emotional support to students (pre-K-grade 5) with varying levels of disability. Required zen-like patience and ability to problem solve on the fly as high-tension, dangerous situations developed.
