I hold a degree in law and a certificate in language teaching, so I’m pretty confident to say that both areas gave me good know-how on understanding people's needs. However, I felt that both jobs, although rewarding, can make you feel lonely, especially in the current circumstances. In 2021, after the first impact of being isolated, I understood the importance of virtual interaction and how many services can be provided through it.With that in mind, I’ve decided to search for an area in which I could explore this desire to help people in a more meaningful way and UX/UI came up as an exciting opportunity to reinvent myself and be part of a team to make some difference.Since then, I’ve been taking courses and participating in bootcamps to gain theoretical and practical skills. I must say that UX Research has become a particular area of interest as it deals directly with comprehending users’ needs. Right now, I have to say that I’m at the most exciting moment of this journey. I’m finally getting the opportunity in a hands-on volunteer job with the fantastic team from Trickstermania. The feeling of being part of a passionate team is truly inspiring. It helped me understand the whole dynamic of a squad with all the characters that we learn about in courses playing their roles to bring our project into reality. At Trickstermania we were given the task to translate a ludic card game to the digital environment. As the UX/UI designer of the team, I was responsible for bringing to life the interface of our card game. To do that, all usability concepts were applied to bring the user the best experience. Everything was pitched to the team who never shied away from giving me enriching feedbacks.I've grown a lot from all these experiences, and I can’t wait to face new challenges.
