Why a design leader is important:Head of design is a vital role in organisations today. One thing is the obvious, creativity and design needs direction, a team of designers need to move in the same direction, to think about the brand in the same way, to apply the same rules to their design and it is vital to have someone who can sign off on the things that are created and provide leadership to the wider team as well as acting as a communication link with top management and other teams. The role is vital for cost saving and business optimisation. Tools are expensive and ever evolving, some a much needed some have become a waste of time or money, most of the time it depends on the goals of the organisation and often there are many choices for similar outcomes, lately, AI tools, UI design system tools and 3D rendering tools have been some of the industry changing tools to be on top of, some of them completely free, some of them expansive.
